Seeing clearer, seeing far

The symbol that has been chosen for the Conference is the old Genoa lighthouse, whose task was to help sailors see clearer and encourage them to sail to distant shores.
Two requests that have been made by practitioners:

• The need for clarity. To attain a deep understanding of the fundamental roots of our work which essentially lie in the Bates Method.
• The need to travel far. To make connections between all the valuable contributions that have come from the patient and passionate research of professionals from different approaches within the Natural Vision Iimprovement movement, as well as from those of other disciplines in the mind-body world.
  Optometry, ophthalmology and orthoptics have also made great contributions and the level of exchange and sharing is going to increase in the future.

From a prestigious venue

The venue: We'll meet in historic Genoa, at Sant' Agostino, a convent, museum, and convention center with a magnificent view of the harbor. Easily accessible by air or railway, Genoa is rich in art and boasts the largest historical center in Europe. It's one of the most attractive towns in Italy to visit on foot ­ and we'll be in a traffic-free area! Wonderful excursions to the Italian Riviera depart from this city (consider staying longer than just for the conference).

And history behind this Conference

The organiser is the AIEV, Italian Association for Vision Education, which has already organized four Italian conferences for holistic vision (the last one happened on May 29th 2005).
The world of vision improvement in Italy (of which AIEV is a central pillar) can also boast: an important on-line discussion forum on Natural Vision Improvement (and several smaller ones); several important web sites; a couple of fanzines (on paper); the opening of a School for Vision Improvement/Bates method teachers (founded and run by AIEV) and a steady increase in sessions and workshops.
